To create your Eidoo wallet, download and install the app from Google Play Store for Android devices and from App Store for iOS devices.
Once the installation is completed, simply open the app and keep your finger on “Create new Wallet” until the circle completes. Wait for the loading bar to disappear, then read the Terms of Service and you are done. You created your very own Eidoo wallet in a matter of seconds.
You can start depositing crypto assets in it from dozens of blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche C-Chain, and many other EVM compatible blockchains that you can add manually from the Settings menu.
However, before doing this, we highly recommend you to do a backup of your seed phrase. To do so, go to Settings > Export seed (1).
Here you will be asked to create a password. The password is used locally to access the wallet. Notice that you can also enable biometric authentication to login (2).
Once you choose the password, you will see your seed, or backup phrase (3).
Write it down on a piece of paper (advised) and click on “Next” to confirm it. Bear in mind that the order of the words matter.
Here, you will be asked to put in order the words that you just noted (4). This is to ensure that you did a correct backup of your seed.
💡 Hint: take advantage of this screen to check that you have correctly transcribed the 12 words without any spelling errors.
⚠️ BE CAREFUL ⚠️
The seed is what makes you sign the transactions that will be broadcasted in the blockchain. Anyone who knows this sequence of 12 words gains complete control over the funds held in the wallet. For this reason, it is crucial that you store them offline, for example writing them down on paper, and that you do not share them with anyone ever.
